Congratulations Cecilia! She has been nominated for Dutch Dance Days Young Audience Award 2019. The Dutch Dance Days invited dance professionals to nominate promising choreographers who have not yet received a structural subsidy for this prize. The prize allows the winner to initiate and develop new work that will premiere during the festival next year. Cecilia made her first evening length youth performance Victory in 2018 on invitation by Maas theater en dans and in co-production with Hit Me Productions. This year is the third edition of the Prize and it has a value of € 10.000 with the aim of contributing to the innovation of dance for an audience between 4 and 18 years in the Netherlands. The nominees for the Dutch Dance Days Young Audience Award 2019 are Cecilia Moisio, Anne Suurendonk and The Ruggeds. The winner will be announced during the Dutch Dance Days Gala on the 4th of October in Maastricht.

Cecilia won the Prize of the Dutch Dance Days for adult audiences in 2014. She was nominated for the same prize in 2013 and she is the first choreographer to be nominated in both categories. This nomination is due to the success of Victory and the great tour it had.

On the 5th of October 2019, Victory will be performed once more as a part of the Dutch Dance Days in Maastricht. Don’t miss out on this special chance to see this rollercoaster of emotions once more!

The press on Victory

“Very strong contemporary dance, physical as well as vocal play, live camera images, music and even singing merge into a product that is both humorous and temperamental. (…) Radiant failure: what more do you want!” – Muziek&Theaterparadijs

”Moisio’s Victory is like a tornado of abrasive moments and changing emotions. Victory is pastel blue and immensely strong.”  – Dans Magazine

“The great slapstick dance – a repetitive succession of, ‘oops’, slipping and missteps around tables and chairs – ends in human-to-human encounters that also ‘oops’ (and ‘auw!’) go wrong. (…) From innocent entertainment to increasingly intense drama.” – Volkskrant
